RICF's Trustees
RICF's three trustees, Jean, Suzie and Alice, at the charity's 10th anniversary celebrations
 |
Suzie is the Chair and Founder of Romania International Children's Foundation, and also founded FICR in Romania in 1999 to carry out the work to be supported by RICF. Suzie also continues to serve on the Board of Directors for FICR.
Suzie qualified as a doctor from Queens' College, Cambridge in 2001 and is now working as a General Practitioner in Suffolk. Suzie first went to Romania in 1994, aged 17, and continues to visit regularly, having spent over 2 years in total in Romania. She is married to David and they have two young children, Abigail and Samuel.
A quote from the early days when most of the children cared for by RICF were rescued straight from the streets of Bucharest:
"It is a real privilege to be able to work with street children; to offer a child a place to live, scrub the dirt off him, pick the fleas out of his hair and help him develop into a responsible, valued individual."
|
Jean is Suzie's mother and is Treasurer for RICF, maintaining our accounts and corresponding with supporters. She has a degree in mathematics, and has spent most of her career in computer programming.
Jean has visited Romania on many occasions, her first visit being in 1995. |

Alice became a trustee in October 2005 following her first visit to Romania. She also serves on the Board of Directors for FICR.
Alice has a PhD in genetics from Cambridge University and has worked as a middle school teacher specialising in science and maths. She is married to James. |
We also have an inspiring patron, Theo Welch, and two regional representatives. |
