Frequently asked questions - Relationship with Government
Q. What is the relationship like between RICF and the Romanian government?
A. The Romanian government works closely with RICF in determining the best solution for each of the children in our care. The government has to approve each child's placement, whether with RICF (at Acasa), with biological family members or with a foster family. Our director and social workers have a close relationship with the local child protection authorities. Ovidiu Ferent, RICF's General Director, also serves as a member of the Child Protection Commission for Sector 6, Bucharest.
Q. Does the Romanian government contribute towards RICF's costs?
A. The local child protection authorities make a small monthly contribution towards the care of each child placed with RICF.
